All Children Deserve Toys
We are already in the 21st century and children labor is still an issue. Unfortunately there are 168 million child workers ie 11% of children worldwide who do not enjoy the developed world children’s basics of life such as education, culture and childhood playing.
There are 7 billion humans on earth and we always come to think that everyone is living in our kid of world however despite may humanitarian efforts 4.5 billion people live on under 3 usd per day and another 1.3 billion don’t have reach to electricity and internet and live in a different kind of world where children do not ride bicycles to work and post blogs but rather go farming or mining or have to work since they are 4 years old.
In extremely poor countries families have a bigger number of children in hope that children are going to be their aids and their providers. Our humanity is suffering with people brought to life to be workers since a very young age and are obliged to be providers with their 0.03 USD per day pay and have no chance of receiving Christmas gifts, attending school or college, spending a worry free childhood preparing for adolescence.
I’ve had the chance to be born in a medium income family and was able to enjoy a very happy childhood but not very far in the mountains of Bekaa other children were not as lucky and were working in factories and did not get a chance of receiving a proper education. When I was 7, I received a Barbie castle for going to the dentist for the first time but at the same and in the same area children beggars asked for money on the street to provide their parents and did not enjoy such a happy childhood yet there was little we could do other than offering some small monetary help.
In Africa X number of children go to work, in India x number of children go to work, in China X number go to work. The world should be moving forward past this phase and introducing a global law forbidding child labor and abuse which should be enforced in every country and regulated by the Unesco ad human watch.
The world should turn the page on our current humanitarian crisis and working on new laws that forbid children labor and abuse, forced disappearances, torture Jails, domestic abuse violence and family mistreatment, environmental trespasses and disregard, rape, declitorisation of children in the third world, women’s rights, minorities attacks and dictatorships. A new set of laws should be set when it comes to ethics and the world should move forward to a new stage where humans suffer less.
I wrote this blog with the hope of shedding the light on 11% of the world's children who are not having an appropriate childhood and work for 0.03 usd to support their parents. All of the world population does not have reach to what the richest 2 billion have reach to in terms of internet, electricity and somewhat developed life form and education.
Most of the world population or almost half live in darkness and absolute poverty.
It's time we do something about it.
